Front office administrator and billing specialists Caroline was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin and went to school at Columbia International University in Columbia SC. One of her favorite things about working at Atlantic Speech Therapy is the progress kids make as they come out of their sessions. “Seeing their true joy and excitement about a sound or word they could say for the first time is incredible.”

Brittany was born in Iowa and lived in Fort Myers Florida for almost 20 years.  She has been in Jacksonville since the Fall of 2012 and graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s in Church Music.  Brittany has held many positions, her most fulfilling being a gymnastics coach and piano teacher for over 15 years. She now holds the full-time Office Administrator position and has enjoyed working at Atlantic Speech Therapy thus far and getting to meet the wonderful families!  She looks forward to continuing with AST!

Courtney was originally born in San Diego, California but later moved to Georgia with her family.  She continued to live in GA for 14 years, including the 4 years she attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Child and Family Development. Courtney and her family have been in Jacksonville since 2015 and both she, and her husband and two boys, love living here!  Speaking of her sons, Courtney was first introduced to Atlantic Speech Therapy when her oldest son was receiving speech therapy services there. Having completed his speech therapy, it is neat to witness how things have come full circle with Courtney now holding a position as the billing specialist at Atlantic Speech Therapy. Since joining the team in 2020, Courtney has really enjoyed being a part of this incredible group of people and loves seeing the kids reach their full potential through the services offered at Atlantic Speech Therapy!

Shaina moved to Jacksonville from Clermont, Florida in 2008 to play softball for the University of North Florida. She received her Bachelor’s in Public Relations from UNF where she met her fellow collegiate athlete husband, Aaron. She has three kids and one dog. Shaina enjoys instructing group exercise at the YMCA and being outside with her family. She loves to be creative and has used those skills to renovate two historic homes with her husband.

Faith was raised in Orlando, Florida and moved to Jacksonville in 2017 to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology at the University of North Florida. She works on the administration side handling all authorizations, parts of the evaluation process, and human resources. She was drawn to this practice because she wants to become an occupational therapist in the near future. She loves coordinating between the front office, families, and the back office to help provide the best care to our families that she can.

Jorja was born and raised in Naples, FL. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications of Sciences and Disorders. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology with Nova Southeastern University and intends to work with the pediatric population. Jorja loves being a part of the Atlantic Speech Therapy team being an office administrator and SLPA in the schools.

Alicia has a BA in Government from the University of Virginia, a BS in Secondary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a MS in Speech Pathology from the University of Hawaii.   With over 20 years of experience as a speech pathologist in a variety of settings, she and her family moved to Jacksonville from the Washington DC area following her husband’s retirement from the US Army.  Alicia feels privileged to work with military families and especially enjoys teaching social thinking skills using the framework of Michelle Garcia Winner.

Leslie graduated with a Speech-Language Pathology degree from Nova Southeastern University. She specializes in early intervention for developmentally delayed and children who are on the spectrum, also children with autism and Asperger’s, treating language processing deficits, and improving articulation and phonological awareness.

Corey completed his undergraduate and graduate course work for communication sciences and disordered at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. His home town is Moultrie, GA right outside of Valdosta, GA. He loves working with children who are language and/or speech impaired due to Autism Spectrum Disorder. He also enjoys helping non-verbal children who have Autism develop communication skills that are necessary for day to day living. He is trained in PECS and he loves helping children of all ages and disabilities reach their full potential.

Sonali is originally from Huntsville, AL . She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Nova Southeastern University. She has worked in a hospital setting, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics for pediatrics and geriatrics, and private schools. She likes to work with the pediatrics and geriatrics population.

Marlene graduated from Loma Linda University with a BA in Communication Disorders and obtained her MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from San Diego State University.  She has a passion for working with children who have speech or language difficulties and enjoys helping them reach their potential.  She is fluent in Spanish and PECS trained.

Kristyn was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has worked in private schools and clinics and has a background working with ABA therapists. Her passion is working with children, especially those with special needs.

Jessica is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and received her Masters degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She moved to Jacksonville in 2012 for her first job as a speech-language pathologist in an elementary school when she found Atlantic Speech Therapy! She began working in various charter schools and seeing pediatric and adult clients in the clinic. She moved, with her husband to Nashville for 3 years, but missed Jacksonville and working for Jessica, so as of July, 2018, she came back! Jessica loves working with school-aged children to enable them to find their voice and enjoys working with students who stutter, have expressive/receptive language delays, language memory deficits, and pragmatic language needs.

Sarah is from Cocoa Beach, Florida and received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Minor in Vocal Performance at the University of Florida in 2010.  She then went on to receive her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Florida in 2012. Sarah has clinical and work experience with most all settings, including Skilled Nursing and In-Patient adult services, but has worked primarily in the Duval County Public School system serving both elementary general education students and elementary students in the Self-Contained Communication and Social Skills( CSS) program.  She also specializes in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and language disorders and has Level 1 and Level 2 training from the PECS program and training in educational Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Sarah also enjoys providing services for voice disorders and accent modification.

Liz is from Central Florida and moved to Jacksonville in 2013 after graduating from the University of Florida with her Bachelor’s in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences and a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is currently attending Florida State University to earn a Masters in Communication Science and Disorders and is enjoying interning and working at Atlantic Speech Therapy as well as working as an SLPA in the schools!

Erin is originally from Cuyahoga Falls, OH, but has spent most of her life in Tampa, FL. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University and went on to receive her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. Erin works in various charter and private schools in Duval County and serves pediatric and young adult clients at the clinic. She is passionate about providing family-centered care in order to help children reach their fullest potential.

Lindsey is a native of Georgia and moved to Jacksonville in 2010. She received her B.S.Ed and M.S.ED in Communication Science Disorders from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. Lindsey has over 9 years of clinical experience practicing in a variety of settings including but not limited to skilled nursing facilities, outpatient settings, public schools, private schools, private practice, and home health care. She is experienced in a wide range of disorders and exceptionalities including: Developmental Delays, Intellectual Disabilities, Cognitive Communication Disorders, Speech Impaired, Language Impaired, and Swallowing disorders. She loves working with clients of all ages, both the young and the young at heart. Nothing compares to helping clients unlock the door of communication and witnessing their progress and goal achievements. Lindsey is driven by her passion to serve others.

Jessica graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She also attended University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communization Sciences and Disorders. Jessica is a native Floridian and as a Coast Guard wife has had the opportunity to live in various states with her husband and 3 daughters. Jessica has a passion for working with children, especially preschoolers. She had a special interest in articulation, language and feeding disorders and equipping families to communicate successfully with their children in all environments. She has received training in the  SOS feeding approach to Feeding and is PROMPT trained as well.

Karissa is originally from Manalapan, NJ and received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Monmouth University in 2007.  She then went on to receive her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University in 2011. Karissa has clinical and work experience with most all settings, including Skilled Nursing, In-Patient, Outpatient, and Home Health adult services. Karissa has also worked in great length with children in the schools, early intervention, and in the clinical setting. Karissa loves to work with students with special needs who need help communicating with their family and peers. She has training in educational Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Mikayla was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Jacksonville, FL as part of a military family. Mikayla received her undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Central Florida; Go Knights Charge On! She returned home to Jacksonville in 2019. Since graduation, she has worked mostly with the pediatric population in the private clinic and school setting. Her graduate work experience includes working with children in the private practice setting as well as  adults in the outpatient and inpatient setting with a focus on brain injury rehabilitation. Mikayla enjoys working with school aged children on  receptive/expressive language, phonology and articulation, and feeding and swallowing.

Hannah is originally from Cape Cod, MA. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Kansas State University. She moved to Jacksonville in 2018 to receive her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, from Jacksonville University in 2020. Hannah loves working with the pediatric population, especially, preschoolers. She has a special interest in working with children who are language and/or speech impaired, due to Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Chloé was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida. She received her BS in Communication Science and Disorders and MS in Speech Language Pathology from Florida State University. Being an Army wife, she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including private practices, early in home intervention, outpatient children’s hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. She loves working with children, especially ages birth to three. She was introduced to the field of speech pathology by her mother, who has been a special education teacher for over 25 years. She discovered a love for speech therapy by volunteering within her mother’s classroom. Chloé loves helping children become functional communicators by working along with their families.

With A BS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida in 1985 she has 28 years experience in working with children of all ages and diagnosis. Her career began in south Florida where she advanced to the Director of Occupational Therapy and a pediatric program coordinator in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. She has been in the Jacksonville area for the past 19 years working with children in both the inpatient hospital and outpatient therapy environments. She specializes in working with children with autistic spectrum disorder, neurological deficits and sensory processing dysfunction and has completed extensive continuing education coursework. She developed a website for management of computer applications and games entitled games4the spectrum.

Rachel was born and raised in South Florida and moved to Jacksonville in 2008 to pursue her Bachelors in Health Administration at the University of North Florida. She continued on to receive her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of St. Augustine-Health Sciences. Rachel has always had a passion to work in pediatrics, however, enjoys working with adults just as much! Rachel loves spending time with friends and family as well as enjoys going on hikes with her dog.

Jaime graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She attended UF for her undergraduate studies as well, where she majored in Health Science. Jaime grew up just south of Jacksonville in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Jaime enjoys nature, reading, crafting, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog. Jaime has always had a special connection with the pediatric population, and loves helping kids of all abilities achieve their fullest potential!

Kiran received her Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Diego in 2015. She grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland, and has been able to experience many different locations being a military spouse. Kiran began her OT career in geriatrics, but majority of her career consisted of working in pediatrics in the school and clinic setting, as well as, early intervention. She is passionate about working with children and infants with a variety of diagnoses. Recently, Kiran has found a passion in pelvic floor therapy, specifically helping women with pelvic pain, incontinence, as well as, rehabilitation postpartum. Outside of work, Kiran loves to take walks with her dog, camping with her husband, and watercoloring.

Peggy is originally from Columbus, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Professions-Physical Therapy.  Peggy has 30 years of experience as a physical therapist.  When her first child was born, Peggy became interested in pediatrics and began her career in Pediatric Physical Therapy in an Early Intervention and Special Needs Preschool setting. Peggy relocated to the Jacksonville area in 2010 to be near family.  Since coming to Jacksonville, Peggy has worked in the outpatient setting treating infants and children of a variety of ages and with varied diagnoses.  She has a special interest in early intervention.  In her spare time, Peggy enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, and reading.

She began her career at the Nemours Children’s Clinic and opened up her own practice in 2004, Steady Steps Therapy. She enjoys doing contract work for the Early Intervention Program, Florida Kids Therapy Services and Atlantic Speech.

Dietician and Nutritionist

A member of the Atlantic Speech Therapy team since 2017, Dana brings over a decade of dietetics and nutrition experience.  Prior to joining AST Dana worked as a Registered Dietitian at Baptist Medical Center. During her time at Baptist, Dana focused on nutrition in oncology, the ICU, nutrition support, stroke, and women’s care including pregnancy, as well as assisting in developing and implementing the electronic medical record for nutrition. A graduate of the University of North Florida Dana has had the privilege of both achieving and using her Master’s of Health Science to benefit the First Coast community. The birth of her son prompted Dana’s interest in pediatric nutrition. Dana enjoys employing this combination of interest and expertise by helping parents, caregivers and their children follow simple steps allowing food to nourish their bodies and lives.
